FAQ

Can I register the day of the race?

Yes!

Where do I park?

At Look Park, parking is $5 on race day (cash only).

Parking is available inside the park as you travel along its main roadway. There are parking spots at or very near the event site. Several larger parking lot-type areas are located throughout the park as well, and can easily be accessed from the main park roadway after you pass the pavilion.

Are restrooms available?

Of course! Plenty.

Can I bring my dog?

Sorry, no. While dogs are allowed inside the park, for safety reasons dogs are not allowed to participate in the event.

Are strollers allowed?

Strollers are allowed but must line up near the rear.

How do I join a team?

You have an option to join a fundraising team to help raise money for Empty Arms. Here are the ways:

  • As you register for the race, select the option to “Join or create a Group/Team" OR,
  • Search for the team you want to join, and select the "Join" button, THEN

Set up your fundraising page and start sharing!

There is no minimum amount you need to raise as an individual fundraiser or as part of a team, and every donation of any size makes a big difference. For the 2022 Stampede, 472 people donated through these individual fundraising pages to raise more than $27,000 for Empty Arms!

Where do the proceeds from the race go?

All proceeds from the event go to Empty Arms Bereavement Support, a 501 (c) (3) organization, which serves families in Western Massachusetts. Proceeds will allow Empty Arms to continue to fulfill its mission by helping families get the support they need, providing professionals who care for bereaved parents with the resources they need to do their job well, and helping the families and friends of the bereaved parents through the grief process associated with perinatal loss. All of this is done by Empty Arms’ offerings of support groups, a companion program, individual support for bereaved families, as well as in-service and professional development seminars that provide medical staff with training on how to be more compassionate caregivers.

When is bib pick up?

Early bib pick up will be available at the Empty Arms Bereavement office at 140 Pine St. Room B2, in Florence.

Friday, April 4 at 4-6pm
Saturday, April 5 at 2-4pm

On race day, bib pickup begins at 9:00am at Look Park.

Will the race be postponed if it rains?
